The Boston Celtics outlasted the New York Knicks in overtime Tuesday night, final score 119-117, and Kristaps Porzingis made his game heard in Madison Square Garden.

We can’t forget that the Knicks was initially the team that drafted the seven footer. The pick was met with ridicule from the likes of Stephen A Smith and others. However, his 34 points and eight 3-pointers (a career-high) was certainly in a way payback for what he had to endure while in a Knicks uniform. This is all without Jaylen Brown in the final moments of the game, it was time for other players to step up. Al Horford also was out of the lineup.

Though Jayson Tatum did sort of save the day at the end of the fourth quarter with a 32-point performance and a big 3-pointer to force the game into extra minutes. Nonetheless, Porzingis was the story of the night.

Even from the season opener when the C’s obliterated the Knicks, the C’s have been absolutely owning New York’s favorite team. Jalen Brunson had 27 points and 10 assists, Josh Hart finished with a double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds), and Big KAT had 34 points and 14 boards.

As the season winds down, it’s clear that the Celtics have no reason to fear the Knicks when it comes to the postseason.
