It was already crazy enough when the Celtics started the season hitting a ton of 3’s and blowing out the Knicks on their home court, but Saturday night just proved that the Celtics will always be on top of NY this season.

The Celtics blew out the Knicks 131-104 backed behind Jayson Tatum’s 40 points. Payton Pritchard came off the bench and provided 25 points and the C’s made 19 three-pointers. The fact that there was no Kristaps Porzingis or Jrue Holiday and the Celtics still won on the road showed levels that the Knicks can’t reach.

Jalen Brunson scored 36 points and tried to carry his team to a win. The Knicks went on a major run in the third quarter and brought the lead down to one possession. However, Karl Anthony Towns only scoring nine points to go with nine boards didn’t help the team much. Luke Kornet and Al Horford shouldn’t be nearly as effective as they were last night.

Nonetheless, the Knicks were just one game behind the C’s in the conference sitting at the third spot. Last night showed that even if the Knicks are able to catch Boston, they’ll fold if they play the Celtics in the playoffs. The Celtics just have too much talent, lethal shooting, depth, and size for the Knicks to handle.

As far as the Cavaliers, they gotten better before the trade deadline. They have the guard play and their front court is strong now. The Celtics beat the Cavs in the regular season last week, so to me the Celtics are the team to beat still despite the records. One thing is for sure, the Knicks aren’t ready to take over the east. They probably needed another move before the deadline.
