BOSTON — The Golden state Warriors (7-1) defeated the Boston Celtics (7-2) on Wednesday night, 118-112.

Jaylen Brown missed his third straight game with a hip injury. The Celtics were also without Kristaps Porzingis, and Luke Kornet left the game early with a hamstring injury. Curry is returned after a sprained ankle he suffered a couple games ago.

The game was tightly contested for the entire match, but the Warriors went on a late game run in the final minutes to run away with the victory. The Celtics did hold a lead in the fourth quarter. Jayson Tatum finished with 32 points, Derrick White dropped 26.

The Warriors, who also had a hot start to the season, showed that they can beat the better teams in the league. Curry finished the game with 27 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

Celtics and Warriors gonna come down to the wire

Jayson Tatum came alive in the third quarter with 17 points to help the Celtics narrow the deficit to 82-81 going into the fourth. The Celtics began to knock down long range jumpers at the start of the third quarter thanks to the likes of Payton Pritchard, Jrue Holiday, and Derrick White.

For the Warriors, Curry began to start knocking down shots too and has 17 points.

Warriors play tough defense to end first half

At the end of the half, Warriors lead 49-40. This has been the lowest scoring half for the Celtics so far this season. The Warriors have taken away the deep ball from the Celtics by forcing them to give up the ball earlier than they’d like. C’s also have been getting double-teamed off the screen and roll.

That’s not to say the Celtics haven’t also played good defense on Golden State. Steph Curry only has six points. Kyle Anderson knocked down three three-pointers in the second quarter and leads with nine points. A 16-3 run for the Warriors granted them the lead for the first time in the game.

First quarter goes to Celtics 24-19

The Celtics ended the first quarter with the lead 24-19. Both teams shot poorly from the field, including from behind the arc. Derrick White, stepped up in the start of the game with three three-pointers and 12 points to help C’s jump out to an early 14-3 lead. However the Warriors started to come back thanks to the shooting of Buddy Hield with 8 points.
