BOSTON — Thanks Derrick White, Jayson Tatum, and Kristaps Porzingis’ blocks in the last minute, the Boston Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers Tuesday, 129-124.
With the C’s up three points with under a minute left, White blocked a three-point shot in the corner. The very next play, Tatum and Porzingis made a joint block to help put the game away.
It’s important to note that all-star Tyrese Haliburton was sat down in the third quarter due to being on a time restriction because of injury. However, that didn’t stop the Pacers from going on an offensive tear that same quarter against the C’s. Boston went into halftime leading 81-66, but was outscored by Indiana in the third quarter by 12 points.
Former Celtics player Aaron Nesmith had 26 points and 12 rebounds, he caused issues for his former team that sent him to the G-League. Pascal Siakam had 23 points. As for the C’s, Tatum had 30, Jaylen Brown had 25, and White had 24 points.
What’s next
Tuesday was just the third game of the Celtics’ seven-game home stand, the LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers will head to Boston next. The 37-11 Celtics have the chance to go on another run after winning their second straight. And with the 76ers having a coaching change, right now would be the perfect time to widen the gap on that top seed in the eastern conference.
