The New England Patriots are now 1-5 after losing to the Raiders 21-17.
Typically when the Pats lose it feels like there’s some hope that next week will be very different. Bill was always a coach that is big on adjustments and fixing things right before playoffs comes. But this season is different. Nobody is coming to Foxboro to save the Patriots.
This all starts with Bill Belichick the general manager. Year after year he’s been forming a team that has left analysts and fans scratching their heads. Every NFL Draft has just been filled with picks that nobody ends up knowing whenever the Pats pick them up. They make no blockbuster, and it hurts them every year.
There’s no secret that Bill doesn’t want to spend money, especially on the defense. He’d rather spend money on the special teams before he goes out and spend $20M’s on a wide receiver. Look at Elliot, he’s past his prime, the Patriots pretty much grabbed him on a clearance rack deal.
The GM Bill Belichick is hurting the legacy of his coaching career. After nabbing six super bowls, when Tom Brady left, things have went downhill. Now after losing to Josh McDaniels (former offensive coordinator and quarterback coach) and Jimmy G (former pick while Brady was on the team) it just seems like every week is another blow to his career.
Each week Tom Brady looks like the guy who played the larger role to the dynasty. Robert Kraft needs to step in. Let Bill coach, and let someone else do the rest.
