CHICAGO — Jaylen Brown dropped 25 points Wednesday night against the Chicago Bulls to help the Celtics get a win 117-114. Boston now has 50 wins on the season, closing in on the 2nd seed in the eastern conference right before the playoffs.

A win over the Milwaukee Bucks Thursday will solidify the second spot for the C’s. And now that Boston is on a three game winning streak, they may be heading in the playoffs with much needed momentum. Especially since they’ll have to go without Robert Williams for some weeks due to a knee injury that required surgery.

Much like most of the games in the second half of this season, the Celtics jumped to a early lead in the first quarter. They went on a 16-4 run making the score 31-14, C’s way. From there, the Celtics held their lead.

Aside from Brown leading the way in scoring—Al Horford was hot, going perfect from the field on all seven shots, he finished with 17 points. Jayson Tatum finished with 16 points, but suffered a rough shooting night.

The Chicago Bulls, who’ve jumped from top team in the east, to a struggling squad due to injury, are now on a two game losing streak. However, they did lock a spot for the playoffs. Zach Lavine finished with seven points, going 0-5 from behind the arc. MVP candidate DeMar DeRozan led the scoring with 16 points. The Bulls struggled to find their offense.

The Celtics outscored the Bulls every quarter except in the fourth. The largest lead being at 27 points. With two games left in the season, the Celtics will hope to carry this momentum into the postseason. How things are looking, the Celtics may end up facing the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, that’s if the Cavs can get at least one victory in the play-in tournament.
